SCOPE Summit 2016 was a busy and exciting event for the Bioclinica team! In addition to the great discussions at the Bioclinica booth, Ron Burns, VP, Product Management, Bioclinica eHealth Solutions, held a session entitled, "Integrating Mobile Application Generated Patient Data into Your Risk-Based Monitoring Strategy." This session included Bioclinica eHealth App xChange Partner, AiCure. Together, Bioclinica and AiCure demonstrated how patient-centered mobile applications – from the newest biosensors to the complete digital health records – are broadening the horizons for patient safety and trial quality when the data are integrated into EDC and risk-based monitoring solutions.
Kristin Mauri, Senior Director Global Consulting, Bioclinica eHealth solutions, caught up with Adam Hanina, CEO of AiCure, before the session for a quick video interview and introduction.
AiCure's artificial intelligence (AI) confirms that patients are actually taking their medications correctly. The AI technology includes facial identification, medication ID, and confirmation of ingestion. All this information is transmitted in real time to a central dashboard. By tying this innovative technology to the Compass Risk-Based Monitoring platform, Bioclinica will provide key risk indicators and servicing throughout the life of a clinical trial. This innovation is particularly interesting to sponsors in therapeutic areas concerned with medication adherence.
